Demographic trends within the County and the three major Subregions demonstrate a increase in population in the over 45 categories with a slight decline in overall population. Bruce Power continues to provide a core level of employment opportunities which are attracting people to the area. Significant increases in the over 45 group demonstrate the long term desirability of the area as well as provide an experienced work force searching for full and part time employment. Many of these people have worked outside the area, have amassed savings and are willing to work for lower wages in return for the lifestyle amenities of the County and subregions.
